Late 30s or Early 40s -Vestra- Mens khaki green background wool longsleeve 6 button front closure military jacket. This is a Royal Air Force coat from Squadron 13, stationed in France from October 1939 to May 1940. The jacket is stamped Strasbourg (made in France for RAF). This squadron saw heavy casualties. The jacket has an original penguin pin, the mascot of legendary Flight Lieutenant Stan Chapman of 158 Squadron. Percy traveled with Stan on his bombing operations in a Halifax bomber. Jacket is in outstanding condition. Button down shoulder epaulets, brass metal buttons throughout that have crests on them. Wide notched fold over collar. Two lower front side entry inset pockets and square hemline. Inside is lined with heavy cotton and there is a middle back vent along the lower back hem. Super tiny 1/4 inch mend on the left collar seam (not very noticeable). We would love to reunite this amazing coat with the original owner or their family, but have had no luck in our research. Can you help with this?
