50s -Margarets- Womens ivory cream, satin, floor length wedding dress, having a note that this was custom made for the bride, by this shop, in 1957. The back is closed with a zipper, below the deeply V-shaped neckline, with matching front shaping. Delicate light taupe floral lace collar finishes both, having a scalloped edge and measuring 4.50in wide. It extends 7.0in below the apex of the front and is V-shaped. A hand written note states the the collar was fashioned from a veil used by a bride in 1931. Fabric covered buttons and loops close the longsleeves, above the wrist, with it cut to extend the fabric acroos the upper hand. Vertical and French darts shape the bodice and piping is used in the waist hem. Loose box pleats shape the skirt, with the train extending an additional 53in beyond the back hem line. It can be fanned out 76in across and has two satin holders to use after the ceremony for walking ease. There are a couple of tiny discolorations on the lower area of the train, visible by close up inspection. These may be removable with a professional cleaning on this vintage satin. This garment measures 57in from shoulder to front hem. Could benefit from a professional steaming.
