1940's Womens Cocktail Dress
Late 40s -Label Missing- Womens bright blue, acetate, formal dress, having a back zipped close below the lowered back neck. The bodice is constructed with boning pieces and has a pleated piece extending from the sides to the center front, with dart shaping. Straps are connected to the inner piece. Shaded blue flower with velveteen leaves has been stitched to the outer bodice layer and was likely added in later decades to update the appearance. The dress is a figure hugging sheath styling, with a cape piece constructed in the waist seam and has pleating into the seam, doing the shaping. This piece is underlined in light blue satin acetate fabric. The garment 45in measures from the shoulder to hem. According to decedents, the dress was worn while owner was a model in L.A.
